Dog Friendly Holiday Cottages
How can it be a family holiday if you have to leave a member of the family behind? Join the third of holidaymakers who bring their dogs away with them by booking one of our pet-friendly cottages in wonderful areas across England and Wales that your dog will love to explore.
When it comes to pet-friendly holiday homes, you don’t have to compromise on style, quality or originality with us – after all, dogs want a nice holiday just as much as we do. Many of our pet-friendly cottages are part of our luxury collection, boasting special features such as hot tubs, swimming pools, wood burners and enclosed gardens, the latter being something we’re certain your dog will appreciate. Many of our pet-friendly cottages are also family-friendly and available to book last minute, so you can go away with whoever you like, whenever you want.
A dog-friendly holiday can come in all shapes and sizes, just like pups themselves! Whether you and your dog would prefer a leisurely short break spent meandering between cafes and chill spots, or you’re looking for a longer excursion filled with challenging walks and sightseeing, we have properties in locations that are perfect for you.
If your pup has a particular affinity with the coast, then a break to Northumberland, Cornwall or Wales may be a good option. Cornwall has over 100 dog-friendly beaches across its 422-mile coastline and its flat, sandy shores are perfect for a game of fetch and a paddle in the waves. Northumberland also has lots of dog-friendly beaches on its award-winning coastline and while the historic castles that are dotted along the shore may appeal more to human eyes, dogs will love getting their paws sunk into these historic bays and inhaling the fresh sea air of the north coast. Wales has by far one of the most dog-friendly coastlines in the country. With the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Gower AONB and the ancient coast of Gwynned country all breath-taking in their own ways, why not consider exploring this sea-facing nation with your canine companion?
Perhaps you and your dog are bigger fans of the countryside, in which case England and Wales has a very varied selection of rural spots for you to choose from. For flora and fauna, head to Kent or Dorset, two of the UK’s most picturesque countryside beauty spots, filled with fields in bloom and wildlife in situ. For rolling hills and quaint little villages, head to the Dales, either in Yorkshire or Derbyshire, both are bound to delight! The Yorkshire Dales and Derbyshire Dales are also home to some great hikes, but to really push yourself and your dog, head to Cumbria and the Lake District, where some of the UK’s highest pikes and most dramatic fells await.
For a taste of coast and country, both Devon and Sussex are regions with plenty of dog-friendly beaches and country parks. For the ultimate coast meets country experience, a trip to East Anglia is in order. Both Norfolk and Suffolk are home to the beautiful Broads National Park, a network of meandering rivers and lakes that seep into the East Anglian countryside from the coast. Whether you’re exploring from north or south, you’ll be able to find private boat hire and boat tours along the broads that will happily welcome pets.
