The stunning countryside of South East England stretches from Brighton in the West to Margate in the East.
The undulating land is covered with orchards and dotted with Oast houses. With over 100 miles of coastline, a variety of historic castles, National Trust properties and quaint towns, not to mention the mild climate, it makes a perfect holiday destination for the whole family.
Kent and Sussex rightly deserves it’s name as the garden of England, with an abundance of orchards, Vineyards and hop fields. Probably the most famous garden to visit is the White Garden at Sissinghurst; a true inspiration. Close by are the colourful and bold gardens of Great Dixter or you may choose to visit stunning Pashley Manor and Hole Park.
If it’s beaches you're after, there is the famous pebble beach at Brighton with its cosmopolitan and vibrant night life. Margate is another great draw and traditional seaside attractions, while Camber Sands boasts vast swathes of sandy shores, and then of course there is the iconic White cliffs of Dover.
This wonderful county doesn't skimp on famous and historic architecture either, so immerse yourself in the past with a visit to Hever Castle, once the former home of Anne Boleyn, or perhaps the romantic moated Leeds Castle. Go back even further with a trip to Dover Castle which stands high atop the cliffs and has defended our shores since it was an Iron Age fort. You can also discover Napoleonic tunnels, underground operating theatres from WWII and the control centre of the Cold War. Stand on the site of the Battle of Hastings where our history changed forever.
For the walkers amoungst us, you can delight in the many coastal paths, explore the beautiful High Weald or cycle through Ashdown Forest. We also think it's important to treat yourself while on holiday, so why not take afternoon tea in a historic town, meander through the winding lanes or shop the boutiques of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
