Description

Tucked away at the entrance to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and located in the owners' beautiful garden, Stone's Throw is a delightful first floor studio conversion which has been furnished to a high standard offering the perfect hideaway for nature-lovers, walkers and birdwatchers.  Stone's Throw has been cleverly designed to maximise on space and offers bright and modern accommodation with a partially screened king size bed, a comfy leather corner sofa and a wall mounted Smart TV which can be viewed from either location!  Rye Harbour, a quaint fishing village, is just a few minutes from the bustling Cinque Port town of Rye with its many interesting shops and restaurants and in the opposite direction Winchelsea and Pett Level.  The village benefits from its own Harbour Stores, selling one of almost everything, an art gallery and tearoom, a local pub, and a cafe on the slipway opposite the life boat station.  You can also stroll to a small shingle beach, perfect for beach-combing. The Nature Reserve (with Discovery Centre and cafe) is on your doorstep, and is perfect for walking and bird-watching as over 90 species of birds nest here, with 5 bird hides available.  There are reed beds, a salt marsh and saline lagoons, protected rare plants and shingle flowers, grazing sheep and wonderful trails all waiting to be discovered.  You are also within a short drive to the interesting towns of Hastings and Battle, where you can explore an ancient castle, walk for miles in a country park and soak up the atmosphere at the impressive Abbey ruins. There are many National Trust properties near by and also the famous gardens and historic house at Great Dixter.
