Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery

One of the county’s most famous landmarks, Norwich Castle is a medieval fortress, over 900 years old and is home to some of the most outstanding collections of fine art, archaeology, and natural history. When walking around the city, you'll spot it on top of a hill as it towers iconically over the city. Make your way down to the spooky dungeons, or dress up as lords and ladies, the castle is a great learning experience for both children and adults, and with admissions not more than £10, it's hours of affordable fun.

Seals at Blakeney Point

The biggest colony of Common and Grey seals in England, the pod at Blakeney Point sees around 2500 pups each year. Take a boat around the point and see them up close, or simply spot them from the shores. If you fancy hopping on a boat to the point, be sure to book in advance and leave enough time for your trip. The tours fill up very quickly, especially in peak seasons, and last a good couple of hours.

Bluebells at Blickling Estate

Discover an icon of British forests in springtime, at the breathtaking Blickling Estate. A true wild beauty, stroll along woodland paths, carved through a shimmering sea of blue flowers at The Great Wood.

Bike in the Broads National Park

Starting from the cycle hire centre at BeWILDerwood, this pleasant ride through the picturesque Broads villages of Neatishead and Barton Turf is one of the best in Norfolk, and perfect for family picnics.

Admire the Admiral

If you’re a history enthusiast, a trip to the Nelson Museum in Great Yarmouth is a must. Norfolk’s infamous son, Vice Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson paved the way for Britain’s domination at sea, and over 1000 objects dedicated to his life can be found here.

All Aboard the Heritage Express

Chugging along, past some of Norfolk’s most heritage-rich towns, the 1950s-inspired Mid-Norfolk Railway is the perfect way to get around the county, and spot deers, owls, swans, and other wildlife from its period carriages.

Stroll Along the Coast

The Norfolk Coast Path runs for 84-miles, from Hunstanton to Hopton-on-sea, and has some of the most dramatic and magnificent landscapes in the county. Join the path at Wells-next-the-sea and pass the nature-filled salt marshes brimming with wildlife.

Shop ‘til you drop

Norwich is home to some of the best shopping in the country. The open-air market, one of the largest and oldest in England, has over 189 stalls, and the city’s lanes are brimming with independent stores.
