Coastal Cottages in Yorkshire
Yorkshire has been a coastal go to destination ever since the discovery of its Spa waters in the 1600s, bringing Scarborough overnight fame. Unsurprisingly, the Yorkshire coast has grown in popularity and splendour ever since.
Since the medicinal Spa waters first drew people to this salty north east landscape, the surrounding villages and towns have grown in tourist popularity too, fast making the Yorkshire Coast a firm favourite with any traveller from across the UK and beyond. Stretching from Spurn Point in the South all the way to Saltburn-by-the-sea in the North, this ribbon of coastline boasts a myriad of places to visit varying from traditional seaside resorts such as Filey, Scarborough and Whitby, to the picture postcard fishing communities of Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay and the artist haunt of Staithes.
Today this coastline is a dreamy menagerie of blue flag beaches, working harbours with bright and happy fishing boats as well as quaint, quiet fishing villages with seafood markets, ancient ruins and stunning scenery. All on the fringes of the North York Moors National Park, and let’s not forget the fish and chips either!
So don’t think that all the best seaside fun is to be had in the South. Our northern coast is certainly holding it’s own, bringing choice and contrasts for the perfect holiday. Whether you are a family with young children seeking a bucket and spade holiday, or searching for adventures and exploration, or perhaps just a quiet potter around pretty streets and a chance to enjoy an ice cream by the sea, the Yorkshire coast is sure to meet all your needs and expectations.
We are proud to offer a truly diverse selection of cottages. Whatever you are looking for, be it a large converted barn within a short drive of the coast, to a Victorian Mansion, trendy apartment or lovingly maintained fisherman's cottage; we're sure you'll find somthing you like, all with the squawk of gulls and sea vistas as standard.
Scroll through our fabulous selection, take your whippet with flat cap in hand and head for the Yorkshire coast.
