Heritage Cottage Holidays

The UK has a long and proud past - delve into it on a heritage holiday.

Wherever you look there are reminders of our past history. From the imposing Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland and the Borders down to the 350 million year old Jurassic Coast in Dorset, via the castles of Wales and the stone circles of Cumbria, when you take a heritage holiday you never know what you might find. Not only are many of these landmarks located in wonderful places, they also represent a chance to feed the mind. Learn about our past and the lives of those who came before us – your holiday will be richer for it.

Britain is not short of heritage stately homes and attractions. Norfolk is home to Blickling and Felbrigg Hall, two National Trust properties, of which the former is reportedly haunted by the ghost of Anne Boleyn. Meanwhile Norwich Castle and Cathedral are a reminder of the Norman conquest of England. The Royal Sandringham Estate is also a superb heritage attraction in Norfolk.

If you want to discover castles in England, then Kent may be the destination for you. Leeds Castle in the county of Kent is thought to be one most beautiful castles in the world, and it will be hard not to fall in love with its charm and beauty. For a castle with a view it’s hard to beat Dover Castle, perched on top of the White Cliffs of Dover. Other notable castles in Kent include, Hever Castle, Tonbridge Castle and Scotney Castle.

Also many of our cottages have heritage features themselves from character features like rustic wooden beams to listed building status. We are confident our selection of heritage cottages can satisfy your quest for character and history.
