Studland is a beautiful Domesday village nestled between 4km of golden sands managed by the National Trust on one side and spectacular heathland on the other.

Great connections across the chain ferry take you to Bournemouth and Poole and in the other direction, it's a short road trip to Corfe Castle and Swanage. Studland is at the start and end of the 630 mile South West Coast Path and the Jurassic Coast.

Why should I stay in Studland?

Studland offers so much for everyone: Beautiful clean beaches with views across Poole Bay to the Isle of Wight; walks across Heathland where you can often spy Sika deer, all six of Britain’s reptile species and many rare birds including the elusive Dartford Warbler; fascinating history which includes Fort Henry where King George VI watched preparations for the Normandy Landings and great access to the rest of Purbeck or to Bournemouth and Poole across the chain ferry.

What is there to do in Studland?

All of Studland is managed by the National Trust which offers a great visitors’ centre for both the coast and the heathland. You can take advantage of the watersports on offer or maybe a boat trip or canoe to see whether you can spot the seahorses. The 4 km of beach means that you can find peaceful places amongst the sand dunes or if you like your sunbathing to be as nature intended there is a discrete area for naturists.

If you enjoy walking there is so much to choose from. You can walk through the heathland to Poole Harbour, take in a section of the South West Coast Path or go up over Ballard Down and Old Harry Rocks with the most amazing views to the delightful town of Swanage.

Studland’s Golf Course offers some of the best golf in the country with views that will stop you in your tracks.

Take a horse ride through Studland Stables; how can you beat a canter along the beach out of season or a trot across the heath?

Studland also boasts a lovely village pub, a village hall which hosts many interesting events and a 12th Century church with loads of history.
