Cottages in Harman's Cross
Harman's Cross is a small village directly between Swanage and Corfe Castle with fantastic transport links via the railway from neighbouring Swanage.
It is a great destination for exploring the rest of Dorset with it being so well connected to other exciting locations nearby.
Why holiday in Harman’s Cross?
The Swanage Railway line passes through and stops in the village, and is a must-visit. The heritage railway line runs between Swanage and Norden. The trains used are steam and diesel -powered locomotives, a rare throwback to Britain's railway heritage. If you hop on the train into Swanage you will be sure to find plenty of activities and attractions to keep you occupied. Back in Harman's Cross itself, the village revolves around the village hall. With no public house in the village, local residents congregate in the village hall, and make a fantastic job of arranging and organising events throughout the year. Stalls at the Halls are held every second Saturday of each month, and allow local traders to sell various craft and antique items. Well worth a visit if you are looking for a bargain on your travels. Then there are the regular music and movie nights, which always attract a good crowd of people. And finally the showstopper – Harmans Cross Field Day. This is the annual village fete, which is a celebration of a traditional English fete. The day includes, craft marquee, beer tent, BBQ, coconut shy and trade stands just to mention a few.
