Cottages near South Sands Beach
South Sands beach in Salcombe is one of the town’s most picturesque beaches, known for its sparkling blue waters and stunning views of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have an array of holiday cottages near South Sands beach and across Salcombe, sleeping anywhere from two to upwards of eight guests and catering for a range of needs, including dog-friendly accommodation for those wanting to bring along their pets on holiday. Â
Visiting South SandsÂ
South Sands beach is 1.5 miles from Salcombe town centre and is best accessed by walking there, or taking the passenger ferry from Whitestrand Quay, as parking is fairly limited. You can also hire a boat for the day to take you over to South Sands, which can be an extra-fun and particularly scenic way to reach the beach. Â
South Sands is an enclosed cove and is known as a bit of a sun trap, so is perfect for those wanting to take advantage of South Devon’s warm weather and catch some rays. For those who prefer a more active day at the beach, South Sands is a hub for watersports and kayaking, scuba diving, windsurfing and dinghy sailing can all be done here. Â
For a lunch break, head to Bo’s Beach Cafe, where you can indulge in a range of drinks and snacks, including their famous Bo’s Kimi Ice Cream Sundae. Â
