Description

This spacious detached bungalow is surrounded by its own mature garden and south-facing decking just a few minutes’ walk away from the centre of Croyde in one direction and the beach in the other. The Reeds enjoys panoramic views across the village to the dunes and the sea beyond, has sun loungers on the decking, a warm outside shower and a secure storage shed for surf boards. Inside the bungalow, the living room has a solid oak floor and a modern fireplace with sofas surrounding it. The well-equipped kitchen/diner has a Travertine tiled floor making it perfect for your four-legged friend to dry off after a day on the beach. All three bedrooms are beautifully decorated with the master bedroom enjoying an en-suite shower room. The other two bedrooms share the use of the family bathroom which has a separate shower cubicle. There is also a useful toilet off the main hallway. Outside, the garden is great for enjoying the outdoor life on a balmy summer’s evening. The Reeds is perfect for families wanting to be close to the beach, yet stay in a quiet location. Croyde beach is rated as one of the best surfing beaches in the world. There is an RNLI Lifeguard service available every day from May to September, during the Easter weekend, every weekend in October and during the October half term. If you like rock pooling, head to each end of the beach. And for walkers, there are several footpaths around the village and up to Baggy Point where you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view. This whole area is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest for its geological features. Croyde has plenty of places to hire wet suits, surf boards, canoes and fishing equipment.

Reviews

Great that this property now accepts a dog. We stayed here some years ago but have not been able to rebook since acquiring a dog until this change so we were delighted to return. Bungalow is in a perfect position for both beach and pub/restaurants. Good parking area for up to four cars and a gate to contain in the lovely garden. Warm outside shower, perfect after surfing. Generous gift of scones, cream, jam, bread butter and milk. Also tea, coffee and hot chocolate sachets. Plenty of dishwasher tablets and loo roll supplied and a lovely gesture to have free parking at Putsborough (£8 per vehicle). It’s a very warm home and difficult to cool at night without leaving all the windows open, something that unnerved me in a bungalow. Some noise at night/early morning from partygoers walking home. We hope to be back soon.

Previous Customer,

The Reeds is a really lovely holiday cottage and perfectly located (just a short walk) from both the beach and Croyde village. Very dog friendly with hard flooring throughout and a very secure garden. The free parking at Putsborough beach was a great bonus.

Previous Customer,

We have had a wonderful holiday at the Reeds, the bungalow and garden were a lovely size and the property was spotlessly clean and a great standard with everything you could need, we had great weather the whole week which really helps,we hadn't been to North Devon for a while and was really impressed by all the beautiful places we visited and we hope to stay again in the near future it was a lovely holiday.
