Description

Nestling in a pretty, wooded glade, at the end of a half mile private road this small group of properties is surrounded by open farmland, which is managed under the guidelines of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme and situated in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Due to their effort to be environmentally friendly, the owners achieved a Gold Star Standard Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Heating and hot water are supplied by a central boiler fuelled by wood chip, and all lighting is by low energy bulbs. All cleaning products are made on site from natural materials.

Free range eggs and garden produce can be purchased when available. The cottages and farmhouse have all been comfortably furnished to a high standard and provide excellent holiday accommodation, which is personally managed by the owners and their family. Well maintained the cottages all have their own patios, which then merge into landscaped gardens, making this an idyllic and peaceful setting for a rural holiday.

On site there is a 10 x 5m heated indoor swimming pool, a games room with table tennis, pool table, table football and childrens' games as well as a full size snooker table. A tennis court and 7 a side football field provide entertainment for the more energetically minded but for those with peace and quiet in mind an afternoon by the stream can be most relaxing. Holidaymakers have access to the farmland, through which there some very pleasant walks. For the more adventurous the Three Peaks are on the doorstep where the open fells and moors provide a superb backdrop for more stunning scenery. Close by is Gisburn Forest, where there are many way-marked cycle trails and walks.  For mountain bikers there are some excellent trails in the Gisburn Forest which are suitable for all levels. There is secure bike storage and bike wash available on site. There is also coarse fishing on Stocks Reservoir and fly fishing on the River Ribble.

The busy, attractive market town of Settle is just seven miles away and the Yorkshire Dales, Trough of Bowland and Lake District are all easily accessible by car.
