Pembrokeshire, on the South West corner of Wales is home to the only Coastal National Park of its kind in the UK and Whitesands is one of its many outstanding natural features. Overlooked by an imposing hillside, the beach at Whitesands sweeps northwards in an elegant curve towards the craggy and rugged Headland at St. Davids Head.

Always a continual magnet for families and surfers alike, the shelving sands form one of the best surfing beaches in the UK, creating the perfect bathing waters for swimmers and breaks for surfers, canoeists and body-boarders to ride all year round.

It is no secret that this beach is one of the finest in Wales and on a summer’s day in the peak of the season its life guarded waters are filled with beach goers. The beach delivers later in the year too, so take a trip in late summer and appreciate what all the fuss is about. Early evening is a fabulous time to visit, when a view of the setting sun across the Irish Sea leaves you feeling quite speechless.
