Living & working in Langdale gives us less time than you may think to actually go out walking. Certainly the high fells are currently out of bounds with a 4 yr old who’s favorite phrase is ‘my legs are tired’. So today I will turn to a reliable source of information & simply point you in the right direction.
Walking Englishman is a great website wherever you plan to walk in the UK, with all the great walking areas of Britain covered. Obviously The Lake District has more walks than you can shake a stick at but for today I’ve picked my home in Langdale as a base or the perfect walk to send you all on. Admittedly I’ve picked a hard one so anyone attempting it may be cursing me by the time they return. Crinkle Crags, Bowfell & Esk Pike while hard are thoroughly worth the effort, with fantastic views for miles around along most of the walk.
Follow the link to TWE’s route of Crinkle Crags, Bowfell & Esk Pike The route is explained in detail with added pictures and OS map references. There is also the prospect of refreshments at The Old Dungeon Ghyll walkers bar as a reward for finishing your walk, what more could you want?
