Meet Wendy, one of the fantastic Property Managers for Original Cottages Kent and Sussex. Wendy joined the company in 2009 and spends her time recruiting and photographing properties in East Sussex and West Kent. We asked Wendy to answer a few questions on what working for Original Cottages involves and what the benefits of holiday letting are and here's what she said.

What advice would you would give to someone who is thinking of holiday letting?

"If they are looking to buy then it's location, location, location! It's also important to consider the ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms. Invest in good quality furnishings and aim to create something special that guests will want to book, talk about and recommend to friends. Ask yourself the question - would I be happy paying money to stay here?"

What are the benefits of holiday letting as opposed to letting on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy?

"Our homeowners can book their property to use themselves or offer to friends and family. After all, it's normally their second home!"
